Tourists and Ghanaians from the diaspora have frequently expressed their dissatisfaction with the substandard healthcare services accessible to them when visiting Ghana. Even though the majority of these concerns are untrue and overblown, there was still an urgent need to spotlight some of the greatest facilities accessible that provide exceptional healthcare services to the public.
This year’s focus was on the top ten facilities, but we intend to broaden our research in the next years to include ALL HEALTHCARE FACILITIES and to grow this poll into a TOP 50 report, which would hopefully include other facilities from throughout the country.

All ten facilities described in this article offer high-quality services to the public. All of these hospitals are in Accra, emphasizing the concentration of superior healthcare in the nation’s capital. There are many excellent facilities outside of the nation’s capital, but they did not make the Top 10 list.
The comparison is not intended to embarrass any entity, but rather to emphasize the minor differences in healthcare services, as well as the faults and strengths of each facility, with the aim that these weaknesses (apparent or genuine) may be examined and remedied.
CRITERIA USED TO RANK THE TOP 10 PRIVATE HOSPITALS IN ACCRA
The facilities were compared using an adaption of the five pillars under the USA health news/world news rating of health facilities.
a) Reputation/Brand Identity – history of providing quality services, high brand association, type of customers, quality assurance methods, etc.
b) Building/Equipment: availability of top-notch diagnostic tools and services, usefulness of the infrastructure, accessibility, availability of non-clinical infrastructure, parking lot, restaurant, VIP areas, and theaters. CCTV
C) Process/Personnel – Use of technology, sufficient and appropriate staffing a selection of services, considerate wait times, a location to book clients, waiting places, and payment choices,
d) Services, Outcomes/Safety Scores: Mortality, Morbidity Rates, Legal Suites, Inpatient Stay, Bed Turnover, Staff Insurance, Referral Systems, Management of Emergency Cases, Security.
